Beaver Shell License Agreement
This agreement is between you and Mindigest, the maker of Beaver Shell. It applies when you install or use Beaver Shell, wherever you got it, including from the Microsoft Store. Please note the clauses in bold: they limit our liability.
1. Free use
You may install and use Beaver Shell free of charge, with every feature and for as long as you like, if you are:
- an individual using it for yourself, including as a freelancer;
- a family, or a school or other educational institution;
- an open-source project, for the work of that project;
- a company or other organization with 5 or fewer employees.
2. Commercial license
- Other companies and organizations that use Beaver Shell for their work need a commercial license for each person who uses it.
- A commercial license costs US$9.90 (¥68 in mainland China) per person, paid once. It covers every version released within one year of the purchase, and you may keep using those versions after that year. Later versions need a renewal.
- Commercial licenses are not yet sold online. To buy one, or for an invoice, write to support@mindigest.com.
- Beaver Shell does not check for a license: it never locks features or shows reminders. Licensing is a matter of this agreement.
3. What you may not do
- Sell Beaver Shell, rent it out or charge for it.
- Distribute modified copies of Beaver Shell.
- Remove its copyright or license notices.
Beaver Shell itself, including its code, design and name, stays ours. It includes open-source components that remain under their own licenses; Help ▸ About ▸ Third-party notices lists them.
4. Updates and support
We release updates from time to time and may change or stop Beaver Shell. The Microsoft Store installs the updates. We answer questions at support@mindigest.com; holders of a commercial license get support by email, and for free use we do not promise support.
5. No warranty, limited liability
Beaver Shell is provided “as is”, without warranty of any kind. It sends what you type, paste or send to all tabs to your servers, and transfers and changes files on them: check commands before you run them and keep backups of what matters. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using Beaver Shell, and for a commercial license our liability is limited to what you paid for it. Nothing in this agreement limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, such as for intent or gross negligence.
6. Ending this agreement
You can end this agreement at any time by uninstalling Beaver Shell. If you break it, it ends, and you must stop using Beaver Shell.
7. Changes and language
When this agreement changes, we update it here and change the date at the top. A change does not take away a commercial license you have already bought. This agreement is also available in Chinese; if the two differ, the Chinese version prevails.
